Any self-respecting Ducatista will appreciate the revival of the SportClassic GT1000, there's no doubt about that.
The moto pros over at Genova’s Greaser Garage specialize in just about anything from graceful restorations to the art of motorcycle customization. As time went by, the Italian enterprise amassed several bespoke creations that are guaranteed to make you weak at the knees, and the project we’ll be looking at today does a great job at demonstrating the crew’s remarkable abilities.

A few years ago, Greaser’s gurus worked their magic on Ducati's ill-fated SportClassic GT1000 – a competent piece of machinery that never received the attention it truly deserved. The donor bike is powered by an air-cooled L-twin behemoth, with four desmodromic valves and a generous displacement of 992cc. At 8,000 revs, this bad boy is fully capable of producing as much as 92 hp, while a vicious torque output of 67 pound-feet (91 Nm) will be achieved at 6,000 rpm.

As to Greaser Garage’s one-off creature, the experts kicked things off by removing each and every last piece of stock bodywork. In their stead, you will find a selection of unique components that were painstakingly manufactured in-house, including a retro-style front fairing and a fresh tail section incorporating an LED lighting strip, as well as a sexy gas tank with curvy knee dents.

The aforementioned modules come together to give the impression of a monocoque structure. At the rear end, the tail is supported by a custom loop subframe that wears a pair of unique side panels. On the other hand, the front fairing houses a new LED headlight unit.

In terms of performance upgrades, a one-off exhaust system from Mass Exhaust enables the engine to breathe a little more freely. Additionally, the standard clutch has been discarded in favor of a top-grade dry clutch mechanism developed by KBike. To wrap it all up, the Greaser team installed countless aftermarket parts that hail from some of the world’s most beloved manufacturers, such as a Motogadget Chronoclassic gauge, Tommaselli Condor Plus handlebars, and Brembo levers.

The finishing touch comes in the form of a gorgeous color scheme that blends a blue base with silver accents to accomplish a timeless aesthetic. Oh, how I’d love to take this baby for a ride!
