This Opulent Chinese Megayacht Can Go Anywhere, Comes With Its Own Luxury Speedboat

Under the name of “Island Heiress,” this majestic megayacht hides an unusual and interesting story. It was built in Hong Kong, but completely redone in Florida. It’s old, yet it boasts modern engines, amenities, and toys. It’s capable of cruising anywhere in the world, but it was also a typical family/party yacht for its millionaire owner.

Cheoy Lee is one of the most reputable yacht builders in the world, which gave birth to some outstanding luxury explorers. Island Heiress is no less impressive, even though it had to undergo a massive rebuild due to its venerable age. This classic yacht delivered in Hong Kong in 1996 was turned into a modern luxury toy more than two decades later, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

At the time, the stunning 145-footer (44 meters) was turning heads wherever it showed, such as the Port City Marina in Wilmington, where its owner had taken it for the celebration of his daughter’s birthday, in 2015.

Robert Hansen was no stranger to exquisite boats. He was the head of the HMS Bounty Organization that owned the replica of the 18th century British Navy ship. That replica eventually sank after an encounter with Hurricane Sandy, but his other superyacht, Island Heiress, is still standing.

It boasts new Cat engines and generators, six elegant staterooms with Italian marble bathrooms, a huge 6-people jacuzzi, and a sumptuous main salon. The original Frank Mulder design still speaks of its roots, as well as its world-cruising capabilities. This striking vessel is apparently as comfortable in the Arctic as it is in the Bahamas.

And it’s got the right toys for any occasion, too. Its lucky guests can have some fun on the enormous slide or go for some adrenaline-pumping rides onboard one of its tenders, a powerful 35-foot (10.6 meters) Scout speedboat. This particular one is a 2011 model, but still packs a punch, thanks to its twin Suzuki engines. Today’s version costs at least $700,000, which makes it a luxury boat in itself.

A rare megayacht that’s got both Chinese roots and American craftsmanship overlays, the Island Heiress is one of the most interesting ones on the market. It’s available through Denison, with an asking price of $10.49 million.
