Not every knight in shining armor comes riding a white horse. For one old lady in Scotland, he came on a motorcycle, at the exact moment she needed him: when she had to cross the street and no driver would stop to let her do it.
Gestures of this kind should come naturally, but it’s not every rider or driver that bothers to get off or out of their vehicle to help an elderly person out. This is perhaps why, when they do happen and are captured on camera, the videos tend to go viral.
The same goes for this footage, which was uploaded on Facebook by Angela Mcadam Blakely. She says in the caption that “three times this happened” and, from the video, it’s clear that she knows the bikers will pass by and are bound to stop for the old woman. In other words, these 5 bikers probably have something of a reputation for their excellent manners in the area.
Blakely doesn’t offer any hints as to where the video was shot, but whoever is talking seems to have a Scottish accent. Not that it matters that much, mind you: the video is already viral, with commenters praising the bikers for how well-behaved and thoughtful they are.
At the start of the vid, the woman is seen on the pavement, waiting to cross the street. “Are they not going to let her pass?,” one voice is heard saying, referring to the fact that the drivers seem to be in too much of a hurry to stop and allow this old woman all the time she needs to make it safely to the other side.
This is when the bikers approach. The one riding in front brings his bike to a full stop and dismounts, walking over to the old woman and chivalrously offering her his arm. They cross the street together and, once she’s safe on the other pavement, the biker returns to his motorcycle. His mates patiently waited for him, as did the other drivers in the cars behind.
When he’s back on his bike, they all speed off. Not into the sunset, as fictitious knights would, but back into everyday traffic.
