This Must Be the Lion They Used for the SRT Hellcat Exhaust Sound

Remember how curious people were the story of the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer lion road went public? We’re a little to talk about MGM’s Leo the Lion, but we may have something better for you.
We think we’ve come across the lion that serves as a muse for the SRT engineers that tweaked the Hellcat V8’s (active) exhaust sound. You might think we’re crazy here at autoevolution, which is why we’re also showing you the Hellcat logo. Not that being crazy would be that much of an issue.

Sure, feline aficionados may explain that there are other types of big cats that resemble the logo better than the lion, but once you hit the “play” button of the video below, you’ll understand. Anyway, we also have an AMG leopard for them.

Moreover (should we say meowover?), the just-revealed 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat is the king of the sedan jungle, thanks to its 707 ponies, so this all makes sense. For the sheer pleasure of comparison, you can check out the soundtrack of the Charger SRT Hellcat here, while the voice of the Challenger SRT Hellcat can be heard here.

Filmed at the Idube Game Reserve in South Africa, this male lion is roaring in reply to a lioness in the distance. Hemitastic!

PS: We haven’t given this furry fellow a name yet, so feel free to do so.
