This Lamborghini-Loving Woman Works on Her Car Collection [Updated]

If you happen to roll around on the streets of Chicago and see a woman behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Urraco, pay close attention the her, she’s a pretty cool figure. To be more specific, Michelle likes to work on her own cars (this retro Lambo is the first car she painted) and she has a small collection.

Her story recently broke on on Reddit, with Michelle showing us her 1978 1974 Urraco P250. This is one of the few cars remaining - about 300 of the 532 P250 versions are expected to have survived. The car had been in her garage, covered in dust for the past 18 months or so, but she finally decided to take it out over the past weekend. When you think about this and add the fact that the Raging Bull was cleaned by her roommate, you may think Michelle fails to take proper care of her rides. Well, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

The financial side of the story

She has a genuine passion for cars, owning and having restored multiple four-wheeled goodies. As she explains, her IT job brings decent money, but not a fortune, which means she has to constantly keep an eye on the market for opportunities - The Urraco makes full sense, as this was originally launched as a (more or less) affordable Lamborghini.

She shares the house with another woman who’s passionate about cars, with the scheme helping her reduce expenses. Her explanation is rather interesting “It's like having a spouse .. someone else helping cook, clean, pay bills, without having to commit to marriage or needing permission to buy another car.

The story of Michelle and this Urraco goes all the way back to 2001, when [together with her friend Kim] she acquired the car in order to save it. She took it apart, restoring it bit by bit and now she likes to enjoy the rumble of the 2.5-liter V8 through the city.

An affordable collection

The aficionado prefers older cars, both thanks to their aroma, as well as for the fact that they are affordable. She must have a thing fro the Urraco, since there’s a second one in her collection, which is painted in the much newer Verde Ithaca.

As a winter car, Michelle has a 1995 Subaru SVX, which she plans to convert to a manual before the snow arrives. Yep, we’re thinking about drifting too.

She has cut some corners here and there though, as she also owns a Ferrari 308 250 GTO replica. Michelle is no stranger to the Fiero base car though, as her collection includes a few of them. Still, she’s proud of the thing: “The GTO replica is an absolute beast that will destroy the others in every performance measure, but I'd rather drive the others to work, the grocery store, or on a date.” [The story also includes a Ferrari 308 (genuine), which belongs to Michelle's roomie, Halley - she's the one to thank for cleaning that Blue Urraco, remember?]

It’s been a while seen we’ve seen somebody re-organize their lives in such a way that the cars they love can get their deserved pedestal. If we were you, we’d pay attention to that dating part.

Update: Michelle has reached out to us and besides showing she matches her car skills with modesty, she added a few details, which we've included in the story.
