An Alfa Romeo hypercar would just expand the world of Italian models capable of insane performance, but at the end of the day, how easy it is for the Fiat-Chrysler brand to actually make such a thing?
Pretty easy, if we are to look at this project from the perspective of Instagram artist Andras Veres. A rendering that he posted on the social network earlier today envisions this Alfa Romeo hypercar, all based on the Bugatti Chiron.

And while a mix of the Chiron and an Italian model would sound rather awkward at first, combining the styling of the two brands looks just right in this digital artwork.

And of course, an Alfa Romeo hypercar wouldn’t just benefit from the uber-sporty design of the Chiron, as the engine that powers the Bugatti would also feel like home on such a model.

The Chiron comes with an 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine that develops close to 1,500 horsepower (the output is actually increased to 1,578 horsepower on the Chiron Super Sport 300+). Paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, the engine helps the Chiron go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.4 seconds, while the 0-200 km/h (124 mph) time is 6.5 seconds.

As for the maximum speed, the Chiron can go as high as 420 km/h (261 mph), albeit this is electronically-limited by Bugatti, so it’s believed that the car can accelerate even past beyond this threshold. For what it’s worth, the beefed-up version of the Chiron, called Super Sport 300+, can reach a maximum speed of no less than 483 km/h (300 mph), according to Bugatti itself.

And of course, the Chiron is a rather expensive model, as the base price of the car is over $2,500,000. This would obviously turn the Chiron-based Alfa Romeo hypercar pretty exquisite too, which doesn’t necessarily align with the purpose of the Italian brand.
