This Isn't Your Average Volvo V50, So Be Prepared to Raise an Eyebrow

Sure, the company's current situation is not difficult to understand. Under Geely ownership, the Swedish automaker is currently in the midst of a reinvention process, with all-new being the word to use. From the fresh modular platform, to a four-cylinder-only engine revolution and tons of hybridization efforts, Volvo is working overtime to ensure it keeps up with the premium big boys it rivals. And let's not forget the automaker now owns 100 percent of Polestar, so you should expect plenty of go-fast pieces to come our way.

The same can be said about the good old days of the carmaker. Most of us see a massive, boxy wagon in front of our eyes when talking about senior Volvos (by the way, Swedish fans have a thing for gifting such cars with no less than 750 hp and stopping traffic to street race them).

But what about the pieces in between the two eras mentioned above. Let's take the Volvos that have recently stopped being labeled as new cars, for instance.

Well, this is an area where we don't have that many memorable things to mention. Unless we head over to the aftermarket world, of course. This is where we find Volvo fanatics who like to take downright boring machines and turn them into attention magnets.

The Volvo V50 in the footage below has to be one of the best examples of this.

Dressed in a matte iridescent finish, this is far from your average family ride. Speaking of ride, this V50 comes with air suspension, which allows it to achieve the stanced look without ruining the ride or the handling.

Then we have the wheels, whose multi-spoke design, deep concave profile and ultra-fat lips make these rollers hard to go by.
