This Is Why We Love the BMW E39 M5

If you’re an avid reader of our BMW Power Blog, you know that we love the E39 5 Series range and its high-power M5 version. That’s right, we’re mad about the S62 engine and its 4.9-liter V8 that makes a sound worthy of praise every time you press the gas pedal.
Not only that but it also allows the E39 M5 to be revered as one of the best driving cars the Bavarians ever put together. And who wouldn’t like a big saloon with 400 horses to drive around every day? Only if gas was cheaper....

Getting back to the matter at hand here, you probably heard about the ‘imminent’ snow storm that was supposed to hit New York a couple of days ago, right? Well, that turned out to be a complete flop and the bad weather seemingly moved towards Michigan.

That’s where it was intercepted by the guys from Vehicle Virgins that got to work, shooting a video featuring... well, what else than a BMW E39 M5.

Admittedly, this wouldn’t be the ideal car to drive in a couple of feet of snow but hey, as long as it’s rear-wheel drive and has 400 HP, it’s worth giving it a go in a closed parking lot, right? Right!

That’s what the guys did and the footage was posted below. At first, I didn’t even think they could get it going but they managed and somehow even did some donuts with it, making that V8 roar into life. We won’t keep you anymore, enjoy.

PS: make sure you never do this on public roads or in parking lots that are open. Seriously bad things could happen.
