The Audi TT would not have its reputation as a hairdresser's car were it not for the fact that it's sold as a cute little roadster as well. Through two generations, this boring soft-top has attracted more than its fair share of criticism. We think that will all change with the upcoming Mk3.
Testing hasn't even started on the new TT Roadster, but already we can give you a very good idea as to what to expect. This rendering was created by X-Tomi Design based on the new TTS that's just been revealed in Geneva.

We're looking at a potential €60,000 car with LED headlights, large alloy wheels and lowered suspension, so it's only natural that the TTS Roadster looks good. But it will be very fast as well. Power will come from a new 2.0 TFSI engine that produces 310 PS and 380 Nm of torque for a 0 to 100 km/h time of under 5 seconds.

However, even the cheaper TT Roadsters will look good and perform well. As a reminder, Audi offers the Mk3 coupe with a choice of two engines. One is a 2.0 TDI with 184 PS and the other a 230 PS turbo petrol, similar to the one in the Golf GTI.

At the time of writing this article, you can't order the old TT Roadster in Germany any more, which means it's going out of production. Let's see how much time it takes for them to launch thins new version.
