This Is What Elon Musk Told Tesla Employees Upon Factory Reopening

There's no doubt Elon Musk is one of the most famous names around, but he's quickly becoming one of the most infamous as well, at least for some people. His recent dabbling in health matters was not taken kindly by part of the public, and it's easy to understand why.
Sitting on who-knows how many billions of dollars, he seemed oblivious to the fact some people go out of their way to avoid needing medical care not necessarily for fear of death (though that sucks too), but of financial debt. So they would rather minimize the risk of infection and would appreciate if other people, billionaires or not, did the same.

More recently but on the same note, Musk has been locked in a fight with the very state of California trying to force its hand in reopening the Fremont plant after manufacturing there had been suspended for a while. And since Tesla is a company making money out of selling cars (well...), you can see where Elon took issue with extending the hiatus.

But, after playing the martyr card by soliciting to be the only one arrested in case it came to that after ignoring the official instructions and restarting the plant and even alluding to a global conspiracy against his company, the workers were finally called back and activity resumed.

Elon Musk felt appropriate to issue a message to all those who returned to work, and thanks to some insider who leaked its content (via BusinessInsider), we can see exactly what the CEO had to say. In a surprisingly brief address given his extensive Twitter activity, Musk focused on... something, instead of the elephant in the room. The really, really tiny elephant that's kept most of us at home over the past weeks or months.

"Just wanted to send you a note of appreciation for working hard to make Tesla successful. It is so cool seeing the factory come back to life and you are making it happen!!

An honest day's work spent building products or providing services of use to others is extremely honorable. I have vastly more respect for someone who takes pride in doing a good job, whatever the profession, than some rich or famous person who does nothing useful."

No mention of any special safety measures upon return or any acknowledgment of the extra risk faced by the workers. Instead, just a reminder of how lucky everyone is to be part of the Tesla dream dressed in an ego-pampering fashion. But, who knows, this could turn out to be more effective than any cure or vaccines out there, right?
