This is The Only Situation in Which Selfies While Driving Are Acceptable

Selfies are part of modern culture, but they’re not worth dying or killing for. Let’s just agree on that last part, at the very least.
Bus driver in viral video pranks makes on the topic of driving selfies 15 photos

With all this and despite the fact that the risks of taking selfies at the wheel have been highlighted countless times by authorities, people still take them. Taking your eye off the road for even a second can have disastrous consequences, but the desire of snapping the perfect driving selfie seems irresistible.

At the bottom of the page is the only situation in which a driving selfie is acceptable. And not dangerous.

This is actually a video dating November 2017 but it’s picking up traction online again, having gone viral. It shows a bus driver in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, snapping selfies and struggling – as most millennials do on a daily basis – to get that perfect angle for that perfect photo for the Gram.

As the video progresses, the driver seems to throw all caution to the wind. At first, he’s hesitant to look into the camera, but he really wants that perfect selfie – so safety, be damned. At one point, he takes both hands off the wheel as he smiles, pouts and gives a thumbs-up to the camera. You can see that the bus is going at considerable speed, so you have the feeling that he’s going to crash – any second now.

Well, as it turns out, the driver isn’t really driving the bus. It’s being towed away after it malfunctioned, so the dude is just having some fun by pranking his colleagues, by making them think that he’d be this reckless as to take selfies at the wheel.

He gives away the joke at the end of the video, when he moves the camera from his face to the windshield, and you can see that the bus is being towed.

This is a hilarious viral video, but it’s also a good lesson. Remember, kids: driving selfies are only ok if you’re not actually driving.
