Toyota Motorsport GmbH was planing to race this hardcore Lexus LFA in the 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season, but they abandoned the project...
The reason was that the racing team was too focused with their TS030 that was competing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and it didn’t want to have two programs running at the same time.

The LFA GTE was tested in May 2011 both in the wind tunnel and on track, the team developing multiple setups for it, including one for the FIA GT Championship. The GTE was powered by a V10 engine capable of producing 475 hp and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque, which coupled to a six-speed gearbox it pushed car to a maximum speed of 300 km/h (186 mph).
