While the world is waiting for a completely new Forza title, other goodies are coming to Forza Horizon 4 players.
And while it’s not exactly the expansion many hoped it’d be, it’s actually a new DLC that will provide us with a Hot Wheels car pack. It currently includes six different models, namely a 2Jetz 2018 Hot Wheels, a Chevrolet LUV 1972 Hot Wheels, an International-Harvester 1969 Hot Wheels, a 1957 Nash Metropolitan Hot Wheels, an AM Roadster 1957 Hot Wheels, and a Ford F-5 Dually Custom 1949 Hot Wheels.
The whole thing has leaked to the web earlier this week, first on reddit from someone who says the screenshots were sent to them by a friend. The exact origin of the screenshots is unknown, but the same pictures have been published on Twitter by AR12Gaming, who confirms the six cars mentioned above are indeed planned to be part of the Hot Wheels pack.
It goes without saying some would be disappointed the DLC doesn’t include actual Hot Wheels cars, but only models from the Legends Tour. And yet, it’s still more than nothing, so I wouldn’t be surprised if people rush to give it a try when the release is officially announced.
Of course, a Hot Wheels DLC pack doesn’t necessarily mean we would never be getting a full expansion for a Forza title. Hot Wheels has lots of original designs that could make their way to Forza at some point in the future. Given that this has already happened for Forza Horizon 3, there’s no reason the same wouldn’t apply for FH4 as well.
For the time being, however, it’s important to take this report as a rumor, so you’d better not hold your breath for the pack to go live anytime soon. There’s no confirmation of the new DLC, and the screenshots come from unofficial sources, so a healthy dose of skepticism is definitely recommended.
