We're happy to see the first pictures of the 2014 V Star 1300, a cruiser which links the middleweight segment and the big-bore (for cruiser class standards) machines. Sleek and at the same time compact, the 2014 V Star 1300 boasts that special robustness which makes us believe this bike would go around the world.
The 2014 V Star 1300 is powered by an 80cui (1304cc) with 6-degree cylinders and dual counterbalancers for a smooth ride regardless of the throttle position. Despite the air-cooled look, the heart of the 2014 V Star 1300 is liquid-cooled, bringing form and function in the same package. Classic belt drive and smooth 5-speed shifting are also on the menu.

7-spoke cast wheels sit on 41mm forks and a single hidden shock and the double cradle 4-mounting point steel frame . Dual 298mm brakes in the front and a similar rotor in the back account for massive stopping power.

The 2014 V Star 1300 weighs in at 668 lbs (302 kg) and this is almost lightweight for a cruiser. Accessories are of course, available with the Star dealers. Star claims the new machinery does 42 mpg (5.6 l/100 km) and after doing some math, this brought a broad smile: the 4.9 gal 48-ish tank makes the 2014 V Star 1300 a great touring beast!

Since we know Star to offer a lot of bike for the money, we kind of expected the 2014 V Star 1300 to be really affordable, and at $11,290 (€8,655) it really is. Look for it in the showrooms, as it became available from June.
