This Is Not the Toyota Corolla Wagon

The picture above caused a lot of hype over the Internet recently, with everybody claiming that Toyota will make a station wagon Corolla in the near future.

The picture was found in a dealership document next to a sedan version and it looks like it was intended to show the positions of the inside ambient light clusters on the ceiling.

Of course, everyone rushed in to say it’s a wagon Corolla, but they forget such drawings are somehow created to suit more than one vehicle, so it might as well be a Toyota Auris Touring Sport. Believing that designers haven’t gone crazy, if this was the Corolla Wagon, why does it need to have that radial carving in the hood, just above the badge when no 2014 Corolla model has that? The only related vehicle with that shape up there is the European Auris Touring Sports.

So until something less vaguely drawn on a piece of paper shows up, we can’t tell if Toyota is actually planning an estate version of the 2014 Corolla. It is just a plain schematic drawn by a bored guy to show where those two ceiling lamps are located on some models.
