Let’s be honest, golf carts are the most boring vehicles on four wheels ever created. Most of them are electric and offer just the minimum requirements to drive from A to B, with a golf club bag in a ridiculous and slow manner. But Mercedes-Benz could change that soon enough...
Called the Mercedes-Benz Vision Golf Cart, this vehicle is the result of a recently launched design competition, which asked passionate designers to come up with their ideas of an ultimate golf player's transport vehicle. Apart from its cool teardrop design, you can notice that it has doors and windows, so that you won’t get messed-up by the elements if a sudden storm catches you on the other end of the golf course.
Other cool features are represented by the joy stick used for steering the vehicle, as well as the iPhone docking with Bluetooth and USB interfaces, a head-up display, air conditioning, speakers and even an infotainment system. The Vision Golf Cart is powered by an electric motor which drains its energy from batteries that are charged both by solar energy or the classic plug when it's not in use.
Of course, the concept will remain just a design study for now, because, you know, who would ever want to hit balls with a stick on a field anymore if you can drive in this?
