This is Just How You Can Become a Super-Dad for Your Kid: Build Him a Race Car!

Not everything in life is perfect. So not all dads are perfect. But some of them strive to give their kids the best they can. And drift legend "Mad" Mike Whiddett from New Zealand has just raised the bar for all the dads around the world.

Now, most of the people that are part of the Rotary Engine loving community out there, will have at least heard about that particular name once in their lifetime. Millions have heard the echoes of the rotary powered cars Mike has had fun in over the past two decades.

You could honestly go as far and say that "Mad" Mike Whiddett has been to the rotary engine fanbase sort of a Valentino Rossi to the world of going ludicrously fast on two wheels.

Two wheels, four wheels, he's tried them all. RX-7s, RX-8s, MX-5s, he's tried them all. Two rotors, three rotors, four rotors, turbo'ed, naturally aspirated, he's tried them all.

Drifting in New Zealand and Australia, in the USA and in Asia? He's tried them all. When you get to this kind of level - not to mention his drift spec Lamborghini - it only makes sense to pass down the knowledge and lessons to your kid. Lincoln Whiddett, age 13, has just presented his new drift spec, a 12A, two-rotor powered Mazda MX-5.

Lincoln is no stranger to the world of motorsports either, and over the years it feels like his father has been gradually preparing him for what he had in mind - drifting!

The livery on this MX-5 NA reminds us of the Rad and Mad Bulls that Mike has built over the years, and it's most likely an excellent choice for Lincoln to polish his sideways-going skills, before upgrading to four horsepower digits in a few years.

Kudos to all you dads out there who have ever bought a car or built a racecar for your sons or daughters!
