Ferdinand Piech may no longer be Chairman of the VW Group Supervisory Board after one of his countless ambitions backfired last month, but the man's four-wheeled ambitions continue to amaze us. Let's take his Porsche 918 Spyder, for example.
While there's no official confirmation on this, you are looking at Piech's personal 918 Spyder. Sure, one would expect somebody in his position - he also owns ten percent of Porsche, to own an example of Zuffenhausen's flagship machine.
Nonetheless, this 918 Spyder is more special than others. As far as the eye is concerned, the Black and Orange color scheme reminds us of that found on the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. By the way, the Veyron was yet another one of the former executive's dreams come true. It's no wonder the man owns not one, but two Veyrons.
And if that rear wing seems a bit unusual to you, it's because it actually is so. The former chairman's 918 is said to be the only one with this custom wing architecture.
We'll remind you Piech, age 78, left the VW Group Board together with his wife Ursula, who was also a member. This took place last month, after a failed attempts to oust VW CEO Martin Winterkorn.
Regardless, his ambitions live on and the best example of this comes in the form of the Bugatti Veyron successor we recently spied. Tentativelly called Chiron, expect this to pack around 1,500 HP and come to the world sometime next year.
