Remember the reason everyone in Russia invoked when the first dash cam videos showed up on Youtube? We do and it had something to do with people faking accidents to get some insurance money. Well, the compilation we’re showing you today is for real, everyone in it being injured, for real.
Apart from showing the urban jungle that Russia apparently is today, we also learned a valuable lesson here: we’re stronger than we think. I mean, just look at all those people getting hit by cars, none of them succumbed to the injuries and most of them simply got up and walked away.
Another noticeable, repeated motif, is that the one-two combo seems pretty popular over there. As you can see, more than half of the videos in this compilation involve more than one car. By ‘one-two’ combo we’re referring to those cases in which a pedestrian avoids a car initially, only to be hit by another one coming on the adjacent lane.
What I can’t get over though are all these moms that fail at protecting their offsprings. I know that the drivers should be more careful and wear most of the blame but still, that’s your kid in the roller/sleigh (as these seem to be really popular over there) in front of you, shouldn’t you make absolutely sure that it’s safe to cross the road before attempting to?
I guess it’s just how things work in Russia. The most obvious example in this regard is the poor mother that sends her child across the street, cheering for him to get to the other side. Somehow, she knew that if any driver came across at that moment, it would ignore the red light and guess, what? She was right.
The pedestrian light shows green clearly in the video and yet the poor kid runs for his life to try and not get run over by an incoming VW Transporter. I don’t know about you but I’m more than glad I don’t live in the land of Mother Russia!
