Finding time to work out and keep a healthy life seems to be pretty difficult nowadays. That is why Adam Zickerman, founder of InForm Fitness, a popular chain of gyms across U.S., decided to bring sports to his customers. Funny thing is, he’s inspiration was a food truck he saw driving down the street.
Called Mobile Gym, the idea struck Zickerman, who is also the author of the New York Times bestseller “Power of 10,” when customers requested a place to workout in the Hamptons. The sports guru realized it would be cheaper creating a mobile place to work out for people, than actually opening another one.
Zickerman initially experimented with a few designs before he decided to go for a shuttle bus. After investing $60,000 on changing its interiors and fixing the fitness machines, the bus went straight on the street. Considering it’s oddity, it came natural for the vehicle to advertise itself and soon enough people would call for an appointment.
Prices might seem a bit spicy, but considering that it will come straight to you adress, it’s probably worth it. Sessions start at $100, while in-house workouts are $65. A personal training session will set you back $500 in the city and $150 in Long Island. In fact, according to Oddity Central, the Mobile Gym has been in operation for the past three years. Even though it operates only once a week, people receive Zickerman’s signature 20-minute-a-week workout that builds strength and endurance.
