This Grandpa Owns a Cool Garage: Porsche Guy with a Chevy Twist

I remember the days when my grandpa used to teach me the pleasures of rear-wheel drive motoring in his Renault Dauphine. The thing only had 32 hp, but it was enough to make me fall in love with cars forever. I’m pretty sure the grandfather we’ll be talking about in this story has had a similar influence on his grandson, especially given the fact he owns a pretty hot garage.

This is not a story about some famous man who owns a ton of cars. Instead, we’re here to focus on the anonymous people who act as the seeds of motoring passion.

According to the younger one of the family, his grandpa is “a Porsche guy mostly, but he is in love with his Corvette lately. Hard to choose.” Being American, it’s easy to understand how the man mixes a Porsche passion with a soft spot for Chevrolet.

The old man’s garage

As you can see in the adjacent images, the old man appears to own a moderately-sized garage, which is filled with four beauties. Like we said, there’s an even distribution here, as the four-wheeled jewels include two Zuffenhausen machines, as well as a pair of Chevys.

The Porsches include a 1974 911 (we could easily call this an air-cooled beauty) and a 2003 911, a member of the 996 generation. As for the GM metal, we are talking about a 1962 ‘Vette and something that goes even deeper into Chevrolet’s history, a 1956 Bel Air.

As it turns out, the aficionado attitude isn’t anything new for the man. For instance, he bought both Porsches new, while the Bel Air was acquired around 5 or 6 years ago. The C1 Corvette is the latest addition to the garage, joining the others about one year ago.

We’re pretty sure than when the grandson who snapped these images visits his grandpa, the quality family time is guarantee.
