This G 65 AMG With Three Doors is Not What You Think it is

As you probably know already, the rich sheiks all around the United Arab Emirates are pretty much in love with the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, but they are mostly infatuated with the AMG versions.

Since the G 55 AMG has been out of production for some time and most of the G 63 AMG production from a single year can probably be found around the Dubai Mall in about a week, the G 65 AMG or one-off tuner Gelandewagens are the only way to go if you want people to actually notice your car in that area of the world.

The following video depicts what at first glance may seem like a one-off Mercedes-Benz G 65 AMG with three-doors, or “Kurz” version, parked in front of the Dubai Mall.

A second glance and some common sense would tell you that any version of the G-Class Kurz has been out of production before the G 65 AMG was even revealed, while the interior is clearly that of a pre-facelift three-door G-Class with a more down-to-earth engine like supercharged 5.4-liter V8 in the former G 55 AMG Kompressor model or one of the naturally aspirated V8s, or the V6, or the diesel V6, or pretty much anything else otrer than the twin-turbocharged M275.
