This Dirty Old Chevy C10 Truck Is Actually a 650-HP Period-Accurate Restomod

To some people, the only thing better than a brand spanking new 2021 Silverado is a third-gen Chevy C/K truck that looks exactly the way it did when it left the factory. Except that it now has a GM supercharged LT4 V8 with 650 hp (659 PS) and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque, so get ready to burn some rubber.

This Chevy C10 truck isn’t sitting on some refurbished frame either. It has been rebuilt from the ground up, even though you might not think that looks can ever be this deceiving.

The architects of this build are the good folks from Roadster Shop, who will let you choose whichever C10 or K5 body you prefer before updating pretty much every single component while staying true to the truck’s original trim level. If you think that sounds expensive, rest assured that it is.

These Survivor style builds will be in the $150k - $200k range depending on options and condition of the original vehicle,” said the builders, as quoted by The Drive.

This particular Chevy C10 comes with a modern GM eight-speed automatic gearbox, the 4WD transfer case of a 2500-Series model (with a push-button system for ease of use), and a custom stainless steel exhaust system from Borla. These upgrades work alongside factory-standard catalytic converters, plus an upgraded suspension with Fox shocks and Deaver long-travel leaf springs.

Other mods include the rack-and-pinion steering from a 2017 Silverado 1500, upgraded cooling system, upgraded fuel system, and disc brakes at all four corners for some proper stopping power. You'll definitely need better brakes if you plan on unleashing those 650 hp – that's almost as much as you’re likely to get on next year’s all-new Ford F-150 Raptor R.

Last but not least, you can get both factory interior and exterior colors on these builds, as well as factory-style 17-inch wheels with 34-inch A/T tires.
