Did you ever stop and think about how car chases evolved over the years in Hollywood movies? Neither did us but when one creative mind on Youtube did and put together a clip of how it all came to what we see in films these days, we were intrigued.
And yes, we did say Hollywood because even though they do go awry at times, they are still the most relevant in the business. By comparison, check out what Bollywood uses in movies and you’ll understand where we come from (punching cars in the air is rather usual in Indian movies).
Interesting to note is that the first ever chase scene in a movie didn’t have cars at all. That’s because it was shot in 1903 and it features horses instead of vehicles. Even so, you get to see it in the movie below.
Amongst others you’ll also recognize scenes from the James Bond movies, Bullit, Gone in 60 Seconds, the Fast and Furious franchise, the Italian Job and so on.
And the cars… Oh… the cars say a lot about this evolution, basically showing us how ‘cool cars’ evolved over the years and which are still regarded as forever classics. Amongst them some Aston Martis, Minis and muscle cars couldn’t be left out. Check it out!
