This C 63 AMG on Dyno Sounds Like it Wants to Eat You

Internally-codenamed M156 on all the “lesser” models and M159 when modified to power the various versions of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, the 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 from Affalterbach is about to celebrate its eighth and – sadly – final birthday, but this doesn't mean that it wants go without a bang.

In fact, if we were to transform the exhaust noise that can be heard during the following dyno video into a human sound it would probably feel like a death metal growl. Either that or the engine is angry as hell for being discontinued at the end of 2014.

Apart from the carbon fiber air intake mentioned in the video's description, we don't know if the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG below has other modifications, although we would certainly vouch for at least a de-catted exhaust system considering the amount of decibels that it seems to deliver.

In its least powerful form, the M156 engine delivers 457 hp and a healthy 600 Nm (443 lb ft) of torque, or more than enough to turn the rear tires of a C 63 AMG into smoke in just a few seconds.

The torque numbers aren't the real impressive part in the dyno video below though, as the vicious growl of the exhaust system is bound to take away all the glory from any other detail connected to the car. You wouldn't want to meet with this C 63 AMG in a dark alley, would you?

Later edit: it has come to our attention that the model below is apparently also sporting an Innotech Performance exhaust and was modified by the peeps from Simon Motorsport, who are exclusive distributors for iPE Exhausts in the Middle East. As some of you already know, the Taiwanese from iPE Performance Exhausts can be pretty much called "providers of hair-raising decibels," and the video below is a perfect example of their work.
