This C 63 AMG Acceleration Sound Compilation is Hair-Raising

We've said it time and time again, the current Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG has an engine sound that will surely be missed on the upcoming W205 generation of the AMG C-Class.

Set to switch from the epic-sounding and naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8 to a twin-turbocharged four-liter that will probably be more fuel-efficient, more powerful and more torquey, the C 63 AMG will probably also never-ever sound like the following beast.

Keep in mind that despite the baby-scaring noise it brings up those four tail-pipes, the following non-facelift C 63 AMG has a stock exhaust.

Sure, the M156 is not the most fuel-efficient engine in the world, which is the main reason for its expulsion from the AMG range during 2014, but boy does that exhaust noise make up for the downside.

Affalterbach engineers have a pretty job of topping it with the new twin-turbocharged M177, especially since that engine will feature sound - deadening turbochargers on each side of its cylinder banks.
