This BMW M3 Filled with Bullet Holes Comes Straight from the set of Mission Impossible 5

The first time we told you that BMW will play a prominent part in the fifth installment of the Mission Impossible franchise it was because we spotted an M3 on its set, being driven to absolute destruction. This time, we’re showing you how one of the cars used for filming stunts ends up looking like.

Put up for display at the BMW M facility in Garching, Germany, this car was one of the lucky few that is still intact, despite what the bodywork will tell you. And boy, was it trashed or what?

The boot lid shows plenty of bullet holes, an image that took us by surprise. Some might actually think that they used real bullets in the filming of the movie, but that’s highly unlikely. Even though we don’t know for sure, we’re pretty confident that they were added while the car was stationary and not during actual shooting. Otherwise, the process would be too dangerous for the stunt driver behind the wheel, no matter how skilled the shooter might be.

Other notable things you can spot on the car include the completely trashed right side that displays some beautiful ‘scars of war’ as well as the exposed wiring inside the cabin, on the center stack. Our guess is that those were necessary to disable some of the car’s safety systems like airbags and electronics, in order for the team to be able to film the crazy stunts we’re going to see in the movie.

The Mission Impossible Rogue Nation film will be reaching theaters around the world at the end of this month and Tom Cruise’s character, Ethan Hunt, is promising another action packed flick. Be sure to check it out, if not for the script at least for the cars.
