I came across this piece of American history on social media and the pictures of the Chevy tell quite a story. It's obvious that the vehicle has been neglected and finds itself at the mercy of the elements.
As far as these images allow one to see, it looks like the 'Vette at least isn't in the worst possible state. Of course, the appearance of the body panels doesn't tell us too much about the cabin and this isn't even the most important detail.
For one, we can't be sure about the condition of the hardware lurking beneath the hood of the machine. And this is where things start to get really interesting - according to Instagram label Junkyardclassics, which brought this Corvette to our attention, we're dealing with a Big Block toy here.
The said label also talks about the fact that the C2 was left behind on abandoned property, so rescuing this puppy might be more difficult than it might appear.
Interestingly, the machine still has its number plates, but this is just a mere clue for anybody wishing to save the poor thing.
Speaking of which, another Instagram user took to the comments section of the post showcasing the Chevrolet Corvette to tag Gas Monkey Garage.
You know, the specialist behind the Fast N Loud show you can enjoy on the Discovery Channel. The label constantly indulges in barn finds, with the most recent discovery coming from them involving this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro, which comes with a vinyl top surprise.
Then again, there are quite a few car lovers who might not agree with what the said label chooses for a retro Corvette. For instance, GMG is currently working on a 1963 'Vette (yes, the only model year with the split rear window). And the path they've chosen has split quite a few opinions in the community, albeit while linked to the ever-expanding rendering realm.
