This Baby Jag Rendering Is So Wrong… but Cute

Jaguar's design boss Ian Callum really likes to say what's on his mind. He misses absolutely no opportunities to say what he'd enjoy seeing go down the road with a chrome leaper on the front.

As a personal note, Callum once said he'd like a rival for the MINI under Jaguar flag, though he was realistic about there being a business case for such a car. However, this little pill of British goodness has been swallowed up by the automotive world and we just can't get the mini-Jag out of our heads.

Theophilus Chin was also taken with the idea of a new tiny Brit to rival the German-owned one and so he rendered this car. It's based on the styling of the Jaguar B99 Concept by Bertone and as such isn't what you'd call modern. The overall impression is that of a tall London cab that wants to be a Jag.

Of course, mister Callum has produced some of the all-time prettiest cars and we have every confidence he'd make an awesome MINI rival… if he ever gets the chance.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
