This Audi SQ5 3.0 TDI Makes 400 HP

Remember the days when a 1.9-liter diesel from Volkswagen engine had less than a 100 horsepower? We've now in a world where you can have more than 100 hp per liter, thanks to performance diesel technology.

Our favorite hot diesel has to be the SQ5 TDI, equipped with a 3-liter biturbo engine that makes 313 horsepower. Naturally, people are curious just how much more you can get. ABT, for example, got it to sing to 360, which was impressive.

But B&B Automobiltechnik, another German tuner, has something better. Their top kit makes 400 hp and 800 Nm of torque, an increase of 87 hp and 150 Nm. Using this much grunt and a few other upgrades, the SUV gets from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and doesn't stop until it's reached 275 km/h (170 mph).

We mentioned this is the top kit because B&B can offer lesser stages as well. The "1K Comfort" pack uses ECU remapping to 340 HP (250 kW) and 720 Nm (531 lb-ft) of torque. Meanwhile, the 1K Sport package increases the output to 365 HP and 750 Nm of torque.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
