Buying a car from the Internet isn’t always the best thing to do because you could end up with a bucket of rust instead of the promised car that an old lady used to go to the church on Sundays.
But the YouTuber over at Vice Grip Garage took the risk and purchased an abandoned 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle, only to discover that the car is trashed.
This was quite an issue given that he just had to drive it back home for about 600 miles (965 km) after the car was left abandoned for over 30 years, basically with zero chances to go on such a long trip without breaking down in the middle of nowhere.
Of course, we’re not going to provide any spoilers because the video is definitely worth a look, but what we can tell you without ruining the fun is that this Chevelle wasn’t prepared to leave the garage, let alone to go on such a long trip.
“I bought this Chevrolet Chevelle site unseen and attempt to drive it 600+ miles home after being off the road for 30 years. After selling my 1970 and 1971 Chevelle's the past few months, well I just needed another one. The body lines, style, and room,” the new Chevelle owner explains.
“So, I bought this abandoned 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu with no title, site unseen that was just left to rot. The car is trashed, worse than stated in the ad, and certainly not road worthy when I show up. From what I can tell it hasn't been on the road for 30 years. But, that doesn't stop me from attempting a 600 mile drive back home.”
The whole adventure is thoroughly documented in a video that’s over one hour long, so grab some popcorn and sit tight as you watch this Chevelle going back on the road after more than three decades.
