An American icon that’s left abandoned in the middle of nowhere is something that nobody wants to see, and yet, we still come across such cars every once in a while.
And today is one of those days, as nixcarpix on Instagram has found a 1972 Dodge Demon struggling with the attack of vegetation in what appears to be a forest.

Surrounded by other cool cars from the same era, the ’72 Demon doesn’t look that bad from certain angles, as its body sems to have resisted the rust invasion pretty well. Not the same thing can be said about the interior, which doesn’t look too good, but of course, further details would only be possible after a thorough wash and a closer inspection of every little part.

But at first glance, this could be a great project car for anyone willing to restore it or, at least, use some parts for another restoration. For example, the headlights and the grille still look like they could have a home on another Demon after all these days, and there’s a good chance some other gems are still hiding in there (but which can only be discovered after the car is cleaned up).

The ’72 Demon is certainly not the kind of car that deserves to be left abandoned in the middle of nowhere, especially considering the cool mix of performance and looks that it offered back in the days.

Featuring only minor revisions versus its predecessor, the 1972 model was the last “Demon,” as it was retired next year to be replaced by the Dart Sport.

At the end of the day, many believe the Dodge deserved a second chance. And the same thing seems to apply to the abandoned model here as well, as it might after all be possible to bring it back to life with a proper restoration job.
