A barn find is typically the best gift for any car aficionado out there, although we all know they’re not happening as often as we’d like them to happen in the first place.
But as it turns out, there are people out there who come across a true gem, only to struggle to convince the owner to actually clean it up and get the whole thing up and running.
This is the case of this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Rally Sport 327, which someone says they discovered in their stepdad’s garage after previously being abandoned for way too long.
“[It] has been sitting since before I was born,” they say on reddit in a tear-jerking message.
Covered by dust and with flat tires, this Camaro shouldn’t need anything more than some soapy water and a bit of air in the tires to look much better because, after all, it’s one of the muscle cars out there that were real head-turners from pretty much every angle.
The 1967 Camaro Rally Sport 327 isn’t necessarily a rare thing, but finding one in mint condition isn’t easy either. At a very quick glance, the model right here looks pretty good, so with a little restoration job, it could become the great muscle car that so many people love.
The RS was the second most-popular version of first-generation Camaro, with official data showing that Chevrolet produced close to 65,000 units. For comparison, over 121,000 units of the base trim level were manufactured for the same generation, while the SS was third with some 34,500 units.
Of course, the Z/28 is the model that’s pretty much the rarest in the entire first-generation Camaro with just 602 units ever manufactured. But for the majority of muscle cars owners, the RS 327 is a dream come true anyway, so hopefully this abandoned Camaro receives the love it deserves before it’s not too late.
