Due to many hassles, including the fear of things constantly breaking down and the less-refined ride quality compared to modern rides, not many petrolheads are willing to spend a decent amount of money on a classic car.
Those who do are usually unafraid of elbow grease, and their vehicles turn heads wherever they go, even in a sea of blue-blooded exotics. Should you want your next used machine to attract a small crowd, then you may want to check out the one pictured in the gallery.

As we said in the title, it is a 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS that hides many secrets beneath the fresh-looking skin and in the papers. Its shininess is proof of a complete restoration, said to have ended two years ago, whereas the maroon paint is much newer, dating to 2024.

A black roof contributes to its appearance, alongside the usual chrome appointments all around. It rides on American Racing Wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires with white branding and sports a black interior with the original dashboard panel, a new tachometer, a three-spoke steering wheel, and front and rear seats that look brand new.

The 'SS 396' logo decorates the front grille to indicate what lies behind it, and you don't have to be a connoisseur to tell that it is the magnificent 396 motor. The 6.5-liter V8 features a fresh Magnaflow Exhaust for a deeper tone, and this Chevelle "sounds as good as it looks," the vendor says. An automatic transmission delivers the undisclosed thrust to the wheels.

As for the papers part of the story, we already mentioned the full restoration dating back to 2022. That's when this 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS first changed hands, as the same family owned it until then since it rolled off the line 54 years earlier. Thus, the proper maintenance and the fact that it has been brought back to its original condition, with a couple of twists, should be enough to attract a new owner, as this classic machine is for sale.

Advertised by Garage Kept Motors, this '68 Chevelle SS has only 2,915 miles (4,691 km) under its belt, so it is basically a brand-new 56-year-old car. You can access the ad (and check out more images of the car) here, yet before doing that, let's talk about the pricing. The vehicle is listed for $74,900, and that's a small fortune for a second-gen Chevelle.

Nevertheless, we reckon it won't stay on the used car market for long, as its future owner is likely a few mouse clicks (or screen taps) away from it. We will remind you that you could get a new Corvette Stingray for that kind of money. So, how often would you drive this awesome Chevelle if you had to pick between the two?
