The saddest thing about barn finds is that some people actually abandoned these great cars, very often in the middle of nowhere, and in many cases they even refused to sell them to people who would have taken care of them just the way they deserved.
But once a barn find happens, the new owner is the one who decides the fate of the car, which can be anything from just getting rid of every single part, using it for restoring a similar model, or bringing it back to life.
No matter the choice, thorough cleaning is the mandatory step that’s required before making a decision, and in some cases, the first wash is an absolute delight. Especially when the barn find is a 1979 Camaro.
The YouTubers over at Vice Grip Garage did just that and decided to take a ‘79 Chevrolet Camaro for the first wash after no less than 21 years.
“The 79' Barn Find Camaro is back! I've hung onto this Camaro and it's been sitting in storage since the first episode. Time to wash this chevy off and decide on a game plan. Flip it? Restore it? Just refresh it enough to move it down the line? Eventually, we'll have to see if it even still runs!” they say in the video description.
While I’m not trying to provide any spoilers, washing the car reveals another face of the ‘79 Camaro, which will probably make many people think it’s actually worth restoring. Certainly, restoring the interior will the most difficult part of the project, as the video shows there’s a lot of work required here, not only on the seats, but also on the dashboard.
But at the end of the day, no Camaro deserves to be abandoned, so watch the video below to see a ‘79 legend getting its first wash after over two decades.
