Different people enjoy different things in life. Some are fond of tuner cars, others aim for the exotic category, Euro cars are also a big thing for most people, but American Muscle also has a special place in the hearts of many. Especially for a man like Todd Carlson, who has an extreme passion for Mopar throughout his life.
Todd Carlson has fiddled around with various muscle cars over the past few decades, and his previous cars include a ’68 Charger R/T and rare version of a ’69 Daytona. His love for the Chrysler group is quite well reflected in his number plate, which reads "IHATEGM".

As you'd expect with any car built to this level, the story runs deep, as Todd has used to daily drive this '71 Dodge Charger back when he was in high-school. With time, he kept upgrading it to a level where he believes he is close to actually finishing the project. But we all know that projects like these never really come to an end.

Interestingly enough, his passion for cars was fuelled by his family as well, as even his grandmother contributed to the build. She did that by loaning him money for a blower setup, as Todd has just gotten the forced induction bug from magazines like Hot Rod and Car Craft.

Larry Chen met up with the owner to give us an in-depth tour of the car, and even without pushing the throttle too much, you instantly know that this thing means business. While it doesn't look like it at all, the car has been in idle mode, stored away for the past 20 years, but now it's been brought back to life, and it's even street legal.

Obviously, with the 540 cubic inches (8.8-liters) engine, the roots type supercharger, and those enormous tires on the back, this thing can hit the drag strip anytime and come home with an impressive result - all while looking spectacular in the process. The owner says that even with a conservative tune, the engine should be capable of 900 horsepower on the dyno!
