This 1967 Chevelle SS Promises Original V8 Muscle Under the Hood

The 1967 Chevelle was the last model of the first generation, coming with an engine lineup that sported several V8s, including 283ci (4.6-liter) and 327ci (5.4-liter) units.

But the crème de la crème was still the SS, which was available with a 396ci (6.5-liter) big-block V8 in three different configurations, namely 325, 350, and 375 horsepower.

The Chevelle SS that you’re looking at here is believed to be the 350 horsepower version, and according to the owner, it’s an all-original model.

While at first glance, this Chevelle has the look of a brand-new car, there are several tidbits that must be highlighted and which the new owner should definitely inspect thoroughly prior to the purchase.

First and foremost, both the paint and the interior seem to be spotless, so there’s a good chance this Chevelle has recently been restored and this is the reason everything looks so good. Of course, this wouldn’t necessarily be something bad; on the other hand, additional details about the restoration project would definitely come in handy, especially because they’d help figure out how original everything on this Chevelle still is.

Built as a 396 big-block, this Chevelle is said to come with just 4,333 miles (6,973 km) on the clock, and this most likely suggests an engine rebuild. Paired with a Muncie 4-speed transmission, the engine probably starts and runs properly, though as you can see for yourselves on Craigslist here, the owner hasn’t included too many details about the car. They mentioned it features a “nice interior and paint,” new tires, and other basic info.

At the end of the day, this looks like a gorgeous Chevelle SS that certainly can’t go unnoticed, but on the other hand, there are several important details missing, and you should definitely ask for extra info before buying the car.

Parked in Carmel Valley, this Chevelle SS can be yours for $50,000. It comes with a clean title, according to the seller.
