Restomods allow car owners to let their imagination run wild, and this is how we end up with unique models boasting upgraded power and sometimes a surprising look.
The 1966 Nova we’re highlighting today ticks all the boxes, as it sports not only upgraded V8 muscle under the hood but also new looks thanks to a series of improvements most people are going to love.
First and foremost, there’s no doubt the first things that catch everyone’s attention are the gigantic wheels. Riding on a set of 20-inch rims and rubber band tires, the Chevy now boasts a large side exhaust and upgraded suspension too.
The body paint looks good, but the folks over at Classic Auto Mall, the garage in charge of finding a new owner for the Nova, say some scratches are still there, though they are just “minimal.”
The interior seems to be in fair condition, with bucket seats installed on the front and a touchscreen now available on the dashboard. There’s a new headliner as well, but just like the exterior, some fixes here and there might be required if what you’re aiming for is a tip-top shape.
More magic is hiding under the hood as the Nova, originally a 1966 Chevy II 400 assembled in Norwood, Ohio, is now powered by a 454ci (7.4-liter) V8 engine built in 1976. Paired with a TH350 3-speed automatic, the V8 is starting and running properly, so no other improvements would be required under the hood to get the car ready to become a daily driver. A 4-barrel Quadrajet carburetor and a Big Gun exhaust system are also installed on the Nova.
With just 26,455 miles (42,575 km) on the clock since the restomod was completed, this Nova is without a doubt a surprising appearance. Given that its price isn’t as big as you’d expect it to be, there’s a chance it’ll sell quite fast. Classic Auto Mall has listed the car at $25,900, and an eBay auction is also underway, with the top bid currently at $8,600.
