The 1966 Impala had the difficult mission of surpassing the record sales the car set only a year before, as Chevrolet managed to ship over 1 million units to buyers in the United States.
And to do this, the car was equipped with relatively minor styling refinements, all in an attempt to keep the overall cool look that everybody loved. New for the 1966 model year, however, were the improved horizontal bar grille on the front and the tripe rectangular taillights used instead of the round lights.

The example we have here is a 1966 Chevrolet Impala convertible, but as you can simply figure out by simply checking out the gallery in the article, it spent the last few years trying to resist the invasion of rust. As it turns out, it often failed to do, so it’s safe to say this ’66 Impala has become a bucket of rust somebody needs to save as soon as possible.

What’s good and what’s bad on this car? That is hard to say given that eBay seller cellwash hasn’t included too many specifics. Still, judging from the attached photos, the interior is the one that should be fixed with less effort. At first glance, a thorough wash should provide a clearer picture of what can be saved, and this is one of the first things the new owner should do after buying the car.

The owner says the car comes with a V8 engine, but no additional specifications have been provided. And the mileage is said to be a little over 13,000 miles (about 21,000 km), but of course, it’s hard to tell if they’re original or not.

So how much is an Impala in this condition really worth? The seller has posted the car for auction on eBay, and the starting bid is $4,500. Getting this much without more specifics on the engine and the car's overall condition is certainly ambitious. It remains to be seen how much the selling price will eventually increase by the time the auction comes to an end.
