The first-generation Mustang launched in March 1964 and remained in production until 1973, becoming a pioneer of the pony car concept and paving the road for the super-successful series that’s still around these days.
This first incarnation of the Mustang landed in three different body styles, namely 2-door hardtop, 2-door fastback, and 2-door convertible, all available with a series of engines that have further been refined towards the end of the generation.

The production of the 1965 Mustang kicked off in March 1964, and this revised model introduced several changes related to the equipment that was offered across the lineup. The black front seat belts and the padded dashboard were both standard now on the 1965 Mustang.

The engine lineup included seven different engines with displacements ranging in between 170ci (2.8-liter) and 289ci (4.7-liter), with more powerplants added for the next model years. A 302ci (4.9-liter) V8, for example, was added in 1968.

The Mustang that we have here is as model year 1965 powered by this new 302ci engine, and according to the company selling the car, it comes with “beefed up parts.” No specifics have been provided, but an upgraded engine should technically mean more power.

The ’65 Mustang with a ’68 engine is being sold on eBay, so if you’re interested in this car, you should reach out to the seller for more information on the under the hood upgrade as well.

The rest of the restomod package includes lots of extras, such as a custom cloth top, as well as a completely new interior that’s covered in leather. There’s a new lighting system alongside a new-generation audio system that includes a touch-capable head unit, most likely with support for the likes of CarPlay and Android Auto.

All in all, this is a Mustang that’s worth checking out, mostly thanks to the mix of an upgraded engine with a fully customized interior. It can be yours for just $19,500 today.
