Prepare to have your perception of the Shelby Cobra changed forever. Up to this point, any mention of the legendary sports car brought to mind the image of a two-seat convertible. Probably blue. And with white stripes.
Well, good luck trying to keep this hardtop beauty from popping up in your mind from now on because we sure won't be able to. The company behind it has a name that is as bland as its creation is not - CN Fahrzeugbau (which translates to CN Vehicle Construction) - and has its headquarters in Dormagen, west Germany.

But enough with the boring stuff as there's much to talk about. Let's jump straight in: the engine. This RS6 Cobra - as its creator calls it - is powered by an LS7-V8, the 427 cubic-inch (7-liter) unit from GM that normally produces around 500 hp. CN Fahrzeug routinely pushes the output to 900 hp for its RS6 line of Cobras, but this specimen, in particular, is said to bring that figure all the way up to 1,200 hp. The magic is achieved with help from that Whipple supercharger you see poking out of the sports car's long hood like a baby xenomorph.

The entire build has a clean but menacing look to it. You can blame the color scheme for that - milky gray with two black stripes and some very fine yellow lining - as well as the absence of any chromed surface. Any part that could have received the shiny treatment is instead covered in black powder paint, including the very fat exhausts each side of the cockpit. Good luck getting out wearing shorts without a scream.

The palette is very carefully kept in check throughout the vehicle, inside and out. For example, the yellow lines on the body are mirrored by the yellow stitching on the black upholstery, but also by the Brembo calipers barely hidden behind the black BBS wheels. The gray of the body is reproduced on some parts of the dashboard to bring some of its creaminess inside as well.

But the truth is that however cool this Cobra build is, it would have lost half its appeal if it weren't for that hardtop. Turning the vehicle into a coupe instantly gives it 1,000 styling points and sets it apart from the sea other Cobras you've seen, while the power output makes it special among the rest that wear a hardtop. That's quite the recipe for success.
