From now on, the company's financial destiny will lay in the hands of Thomas Kemeny, until recently the director of Ford's Corporate Business Development division. Kemeny has a long experience in the field of finance management and holds an MBA from Harvard.
Aside for appointing a new CEO appointment, the company also named Alain Haag, the former vice president at Volvo Powertrain, to the position of vice president for Purchasing. The Frenchman has a broad experience gained with several manufacturers, including Volvo, Renault and Mack.
“These two new appointments bring un-rivalled quality and experience to the top finance and supply chain echelons at THINK,” said Barry Engle, Think CEO.
“Tom will bring what he’s achieved in North America and in dealing with the DoE to the headquarters here in Oslo, with a new vigour and enthusiasm. His role will become even more crucial as we ramp up operations around the world in 2011 - a very finance intensive operation.”
The electric car manufactured currently by Think, the City can achieve a top speed of 100 km/hour (62 mph) and sprints from naught to 62 mph in 6.5 seconds. During summer and with the heater off, Think can travel in between 170 km (105 miles) and 203 km (126 miles). The car can be plugged in a standard home outlet ((220V in Europe).
