Talk about extremely bad luck or a short lesson into what happens if you pour whatever you steal into your car’s tank without checking. Three individuals from Keavy, Kentucky, were arrested on various charges, including burglary, after they stole what they believed was a 5-gallon gasoline jug off a man’s property.
The jug actually contained peroxide, but the 3 suspects only found out after they’d poured it into their broken-down truck, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office writes in a post on the official Facebook page. They never made it in their escape, that goes without saying. The 3 are now in custody, having been hit with an assorted array of charges.
According to the post, deputies responded to a call of a burglary in progress. The 3, 2 men and 1 woman (one of the men is female by birth but goes by a male name), had broken into someone’s property and were stealing what they thought was the 5-gallon jug of gasoline. Their truck had broken down not far away and they assumed it was because it was running on empty.
When deputies arrived at the scene, the 3 had already poured the contents of the jug in. The truck refused to start because, duh, the jug contained peroxide.
“The suspects did not know the jug had peroxide in it and not gasoline,” the Sheriff’s Office says. “Allegedly, the suspect’s vehicle broke down nearby where the suspects then allegedly attempted to enter a gated field by unlatching the gate and attempting to push their broken down truck inside there.”
Dustin Napier, who is female by birth, had placed pills into her mouth and refused to spit them out when asked by deputies. “In addition, one of the female subjects(Latasha Byrant) was found in possession of a glass pipe and gabapentin. Also, some of the suspects had outstanding warrants,” the Sheriff’s Office continues.
As of the time of going public with the arrest, all 3 suspects remained in custody.
