Car thieves don’t bother with knowing the history of the cars they’re taking, or the history of their owners. Even so, this one incident is making headlines for showing how heartless they can be.
Whenever you have something stolen from you, you will experience loss and realize just how much you depended or liked that thing. Jessica Kasch is also in this situation, but the difference is that her life really depends on the car the thieves stole from her.
A few days ago, Jessica went out at night to walk her dog. She lives with her husband Tyler in St. Louis County, and they used to own a white 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, which would sit parked in the parking lot outside their apartment. When she came out, she saw a group of men getting inside the car and driving off.
The realization struck her: she was watching as her car was being stolen. Not that she could do anything about it, she tells KMOV.
The situation is very complicated for these two. “I drive for Uber and have no source of income now,” Tyler tells the media outlet.
Without money, they can’t pay for the medical treatment and the doctor’s appointments Jessica still needs. She is 4 years cancer-free after being diagnosed with the deadliest form of brain cancer, Glioblastoma Multiforme Stage IV, but she needs periodical checkups and occasional treatments to make sure the cancer doesn’t return.
Jessica knows thieves don’t care about stuff like that, but she still can’t help but wonder at the selfishness of their act.
“They would have no idea that I, the person has cancer or the car that they stole has cancer and needs to go to therapies and stuff like that,” she says.
A GoFundMe campaign has been started in Jessica’s name, while police look for the thieves (3 in number) and the car.
