The good news is that the officers in the patrol car were not injured and that, at the very least, they managed to get the plates on the car. However, since it was a stolen vehicle, that will probably turn out to be of little help.
“In the early hours on patrol one of our Road Policing vehicles saw a Land Rover, 4FTX, speeding through the lanes at Cook Hill. It stopped in the middle of the road, reversed and rammed the Police car before making off. Thankfully the officers are ok,” OPU Worcestershire tweeted on the official channel.
They also included a photo of the smashed BMW and a video of the chase. You can’t tell from the video how bad the impact was, but you can guess it by the fact that the cops don’t go after the thieves. The photo makes it clear that their car was no longer in any condition for chasing bad guys, let alone to help the cops catch them.
“The number plate displayed on the offending vehicle 4FTX, was stolen overnight,” the police say. They’re also urging members of the public to reach out if they have any information on who might have stolen the car.
Again, this being a stolen vehicle, chances of ever catching the bad guys are slim, especially if neither of the cops saw their faces.
