These Brabus 700 6x6 Images Will Make You Wish For a Sandstorm

The 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show arguably brought the largest array of craziness on four wheels from the little town of Bottrop, with a range of new engines and models based on various Mercedes-Benz vehicles – all of tickled by the magic hands of Brabus engineers.

The most impressive car from a visual standpoint was, naturally, the Brabus 700 6x6 – a six-wheeled dark leviathan that somehow managed to eclipse the original Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6x6.

The opulence exhibited by the base car has nothing compared with the acres of fine Mastik leather, carbon fiber and small patches of gold engulfing most parts of the Brabus 700 6x6.

The engineers from Bottrop first fitted the 5.5-liter M157 engine from the “regular” car with a new air intake that is covered in gold for a better heat insulation, a bespoke ECU and an all-new exhaust system.

With no less than 700 hp and 960 Nm (708 lb ft) of torque resulted from the rather small aforementioned modifications, the Brabus 700 6x6 is a little bit faster than the standard Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6x6, but keep in mind that it still weighs about twice as a V8-engined E-Class sedan.

Brabus then went on to subtly change the exterior and interior look of the six-wheeled behemoth, with the outside receiving a fair amount of carbon fiber parts, topped with the recent addition of an electronically-controlled side step for its more height challenged owners.

As for the interior, this is where four of you would probably want to be during a sandstorm after an extended sand-surfing session in the dunes surrounding Dubai.

Almost every surface has been covered in quilted leather, making for one of the most sumptuous places where you can sit and enjoy how the five differentials do their magic in not getting you stuck in the sand.
