These 2017 Audi S3 Videos Might Help You Decide What to Buy

As all you Audi fans know, the entire A3 family got a major refresh recently. People love to hate the company for using the same headlights as on the A4. But that won't slow sales of hardcore models like the S3.

All the different body styles of the S3 were revealed at once. But some of the photos were just 3D models made to look like cars. So when Audi started releasing official B-roll videos, we checked them out.

You know what? The S3 doesn't look that bad with its new lights. It's like the makeup used by Kiss, a bit heavier at the bottom. The headlights are pretty interesting, boasting those wave patterns that debuted on the A8. The taillights do that too, plus they now have a 3D effect

Audi also changed how the grille and the front skirt look. Right now, you can't buy any of the S3 models. But we know several features will get upgraded. For example, you will be able to replace the normal dash with the Virtual Cockpit 12.3-inch display, which will have an S-specific setup.

As for the stuff under the bonnet, the marketing teams have decided to tell us that the 2.0 TFSI now makes 310 horsepower, just like it did in the TTS all along. It's not going to affect performance in a big way, but we suspect the engineers have done serious tweaks to the steering system and gearbox, pushing the S3 closer to the VW rival concerning fun.

While the Golf R only has three versions, Audi makes four: 3-, 5-door, sedan and convertible. We still don't like the convertible, even if it looks good standing still. The weight and the lost body stiffness defeat the point of buying an S3 in the first place. So, with money not an issue, which one would you have?
