Ever since we drove BMW’s plug-in hybrid sportscar, we can’t but wonder when and especially how to get one. Sure, few regular people out there actually afford one of them space shuttles, but there’s no way anyone can take our dreams away. So here’s what happened the other day. While we were having one of those daydreams, we stumbled upon a video showing a fully electric unit of the German hybrid driving in the middle of what seemed to be a supermarket.
Did you guess it? Yep, you’re right. We’re talking about an electric toy car that solely borrowed the looks of the German hybrid. It’s called Aria Child Avigo BMW i8 Spyder, and it’s a lot cheaper than the actual car, of course.

Among features, we’ll mention the butterfly doors, working headlight and authentic horn and engine sounds. According to its maker, the interior is packed with “revolutionary, top-of-the-line features such as a working MP3 connector with speakers and a battery life indicator.

There may not be a top-notch engine to propel it to impressive speeds in just a few seconds, but for a child the 2.5 mph forward and reverse options should be more than enough.

Getting back at the actual BMW i8 for a moment, let us remind you we found there’s a lot to this car concerning the wow factor. Not since we reviewed the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster have we encountered a car with such power to make people turn their heads. When you can’t take photos of your test vehicle due to passers-by doing their impromptu shootings around the car, you know the visual drama has hit its target.

Will this happen with your kid playing around in the park with the toy i8? We’re counting on you for that answer.
