"The intention behind the G-POWER X6 TYPHOON RS V10 is, besides the aim of building the world's fastest SUV, to create a vehicle to do homage to M GmbH's fascinating V10 power unit," according to G-POWER's Managing Directors Christian Stöber and Zoran Zorneke talking about the X6 M's technical specification.

You might wonder what V10? There's no such thing on a X6. Even the X6M is powered by a 4.4-liter engine, you must be going bonkers. Not quite. In order to obtain such overwhelming power for BMW's SUV, the guys over at G-Power decided to use the E60 M5 V10 S85 engine.

Even that wasn't enough. In order to get to 900 HP, the engine had to be slightly altered. They enlarged its cubic capacity to 5.5-liters and replaced the pistons with high-performance, forget Mahle ones with lower compression and increased mechanical strength. Those will handle better with the air coming from the twin ASA T1-316 compressors that are now cooled with a double-flow, water-cooled intercooler. This way the throttle response is better in the Typhoon.

The ECU was also modified in order to handle the new engine and make it work harder. The result is a peak performance of 900HP and 870 Nm. The power is now transferred only to the rear axle, the German engineers over at G-Power deciding to replace the standard xDrive system and the BMW Gearbox in order to complete the overall racing feel of the SUV.

With the new specs, the Typhoon RS X6 reaches 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, 200 km/h in 13 seconds and goes all the way up to a top speed of 330 km/h, making it the fastest SUV in the world.

All that power has to be kept under control. That is managed due to the Typhoon aerodynamic kit and the custom suspension. The car has a total weight of 2,230 kg (150 kg less than the standard model) and all that weight is being held back by a custom, high-tech brake system equipped with 410 mm carbon-ceramic brake disks and 6-piston calipers. This system allows a deceleration better than Earth's gravity while at the same time it is 50% lighter than the car's standard brake system.

The interior has been redesigned also, in order to give the driver a complete super-sport experience. The seats are now ultra-light carbon made and the entertainment system has been changed to a high-end custom version. The doors have been covered in leather and was the wheel.
