Jaguar has just released the second video of a four-part film that documents The Wire actor Idris Elba test driving the company’s XE S from London to Berlin. This time the action takes place in Belgium, as he is seen driving along Formula One champion Martin Brundle in a high-octane test at the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit.
As we previously reported, Jaguar managed to cut a deal with the British actor and he’s now officially promoting the XE around Europe. Envisioned as a 750-mile journey, the 42-actor/DJ is driving from London to Berlin in winter conditions. Meanwhile he’s also documenting the trip with Jaguar releasing a new video every week or so.
To prove that the claimed class-leading fuel economy new sports saloon is not only fast and powerful, but also extremely stable Jaguar thought it was about time to test it on the track as well. Sure, Idris is far from having the same moves as Formula One legend Martin Brundle, but there’s some interesting action captured in the video below. “It’s a big-boy car” the British actor goes while keeping his eyes on the road. To be honest, that 3.0-liter 335 horsepower engine almost seems to scare the actor a little at one point.
